Frequently Asked Questions
Where do Brisbane White Card classes actually run?
Brisbane is a catchment area, so your CPCWHS1001 class runs at our Cannon Hill venue at 968 Wynnum Road, Cannon Hill QLD 4170 – just a short trip from the Brisbane CBD. It’s easy to reach from Morningside, Murarrie and Tingalpa, with parking on site and public transport options close by. If you’d prefer a different spot, check out our nearby Cannon Hill and Logan pages. Questions? Call 1300 029 132.
What's nearby for breaks and lunch around the Cannon Hill venue?
Our Cannon Hill venue on Wynnum Road is well placed for a quick lunch break. You’ll find cafes and food options around the Cannon Hill and Morningside shopping precincts, plus plenty of takeaway spots toward Murarrie and Tingalpa. There’s enough nearby that you can grab a coffee or a bite during your break and be back well before the afternoon session.
Which Brisbane employers and industries need a White Card?
Brisbane’s construction sector is booming, so a White Card is essential across residential building, commercial high-rise, civil works and infrastructure right across the metro area. Builders, subcontractors, labour-hire firms and apprentices working anywhere from the CBD to Cannon Hill, Murarrie and Tingalpa all require CPCWHS1001 before stepping onto a site. At just $85, it’s a small step to get work-ready in Brisbane.
How does the Brisbane catchment compare to other nearby venues?
Brisbane classes run at our Cannon Hill venue, which is the closest option for most metro residents. If you’re further south, Logan at Logan Central may be handier, and those toward Moreton Bay might prefer Caboolture. Every venue delivers the same CPCWHS1001 course for $85 with a same-day Statement of Attainment.
Do you offer on-site or group White Card training for Brisbane businesses?
Yes. If you’ve got a team to train across Brisbane, we can arrange group bookings and on-site delivery to suit your workplace and schedule. It’s a great option for builders, labour-hire companies and large sites that need multiple workers carded at once. Call us on 1300 029 132 to discuss group rates and dates for your Brisbane crew.
What major projects are driving construction demand in Brisbane?
Brisbane is in the middle of a major growth phase, with the lead-up to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games driving significant investment in venues, transport and infrastructure. Projects like Cross River Rail and ongoing high-rise and residential development across the metro area mean steady demand for carded workers. Getting your White Card now puts you in a strong position to join the action.
What are the White Card rules in Queensland?
In Queensland, anyone carrying out construction work must hold a White Card under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld), administered by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WorkSafe QLD). The nationally recognised CPCWHS1001 course covers the general construction induction training you need. Once complete, your White Card is recognised Australia-wide, so it travels with you interstate too.
Can I get my Statement of Attainment the same day, and do I need a USI?
Yes – once you successfully complete the course, we issue your Statement of Attainment the same day, so you can show evidence of your White Card straight away. You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) before we can issue it. If you don’t have one yet, it’s free and quick to create at usi.gov.au. Bring your USI and photo ID along on the day.
I just need the White Card - is this the right course?
Absolutely. CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry – is the official White Card course, and it’s exactly what employers and sites mean when they ask for a White Card. It’s a single day of training for $85, with your Statement of Attainment issued the same day and a card recognised Australia-wide. If you’re unsure, give us a call on 1300 029 132 and we’ll point you in the right direction.
