Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the White Card training venue for Chermside and how do I get there?
Your CPCWHS1001 White Card class runs at our central Brisbane venue at Level 4 & 8/117 Queen St, Brisbane City QLD 4000. It’s right in the heart of the CBD on Queen Street, an easy trip from Chermside via the M3/Airport Link or a short bus ride into the city. Central Station and the Queen Street bus interchange are both within walking distance, and there’s plenty of paid parking nearby if you’d rather drive. Questions about getting here? Call us on 1300 029 132.
What's nearby for breaks and lunch during the course?
Being right on Queen Street Mall, you’re spoiled for choice. Grab a coffee or a quick bite at the food court in the Myer Centre, browse the cafés along Edward Street, or head down to Eagle Street for something a bit more relaxed. There are plenty of options within a couple of minutes’ walk, so your lunch break during the White Card day is easy and stress-free.
Which local employers and industries need a White Card around here?
Brisbane City is a hub for major construction, commercial fit-outs, high-rise development and infrastructure work, so a White Card is essential for anyone stepping onto a site. Builders, scaffolders, labourers, electricians, plumbers, traffic controllers and apprentices working across the CBD and inner suburbs all need CPCWHS1001 before they can start. If you’re heading into construction anywhere around Brisbane, this is your first ticket.
How does this venue compare to other nearby QLD White Card locations?
Our Brisbane City venue is the most central option, but if another location suits you better we also run classes at Cannon Hill, Logan and Caboolture. Every venue delivers the same nationally recognised CPCWHS1001 course for the same $85, so just pick whichever is easiest to get to. Call 1300 029 132 if you’re not sure which one to book.
Do you offer on-site or group White Card training for the local area?
Yes. If you’ve got a team of workers needing their White Card, we can arrange group and on-site training across Brisbane and surrounding suburbs. It’s a convenient way to get everyone certified together without pulling staff away for travel. Give us a ring on 1300 029 132 to talk through numbers, dates and pricing for your crew.
What major projects are driving demand for White Cards in the Brisbane region?
South East Queensland is in a huge growth phase, with the Cross River Rail project, Queen’s Wharf redevelopment, Brisbane Metro and major preparations for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games all feeding a construction boom. That means strong, ongoing demand for site-ready workers across the CBD and inner Brisbane, and a White Card is the baseline requirement to get involved.
What are the White Card rules in Queensland?
In Queensland, anyone carrying out construction work must complete CPCWHS1001 (Prepare to work safely in the construction industry) before entering a site. This is required under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) and is administered by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WorkSafe QLD). Once you complete the course you receive a White Card that’s recognised right across Australia.
How long is my White Card valid for?
Your White Card doesn’t expire by date, but there’s an important catch: if you don’t carry out any construction work for a continuous period of two years or more, your card lapses and you’ll need to complete the course again. As long as you stay active in construction within any two-year window, your White Card remains valid Australia-wide.
Can I get my Statement of Attainment the same day, and do I need a USI?
Yes – most students receive their same-day Statement of Attainment on completion, so you can be site-ready straight away. You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to be issued your certificate; it’s free and quick to set up at usi.gov.au. Just bring your USI along on the day, or create one before you arrive.
I just need the White Card - is this the right course?
Absolutely. CPCWHS1001 is the one and only course you need to get your White Card and start work in construction – there’s nothing more complicated to book. It costs $85, runs in a single day, and gives you a nationally recognised card at the end. If you’ve got any questions before booking, just call our friendly team on 1300 029 132.
