Our Southport venue is at Level 3, Suite 6/9 Frinton Street, Southport QLD 4215, right in the heart of the Gold Coast. It’s easy to reach whether you’re driving in from Surfers Paradise, Labrador or Ashmore, with the G:link light rail and plenty of nearby parking making access simple. If you’re unsure about parking or public transport on the day, give us a call on 1300 029 132 and we’ll point you in the right direction.
What's nearby for breaks and lunch around Southport?
You’re well looked after around Southport. Australia Fair Shopping Centre is only a short stroll away with a food court and cafes, and there are plenty of coffee spots and takeaway options along Scarborough Street and Nerang Street. If the weather’s good, the Broadwater Parklands are close by for a quick bite in the fresh air during your break.
Which local employers and industries need White Cards around Southport?
Southport and the wider Gold Coast are booming with construction, and a White Card is the standard entry requirement across the region. Local builders, high-rise developers in Surfers Paradise, civil and infrastructure contractors, fit-out and trade businesses, and labour-hire firms all expect workers to hold a valid CPCWHS1001 card before they set foot on site. Whether you’re chasing work in residential builds around Labrador or commercial projects in the Southport CBD, this course gets you started.
How does the Southport venue compare to other QLD White Card venues?
Southport is our Gold Coast venue and the most convenient choice if you’re local. If you’re travelling from further north, you might find it easier to book at one of our sibling venues instead, such as Logan, Brisbane or Cannon Hill. Every venue delivers the same nationally recognised CPCWHS1001 course for $85, so just pick whichever is closest to you.
Do you offer on-site or group White Card training around Southport?
Yes. If you’ve got a team that needs training, we can arrange group sessions and on-site delivery across Southport and the broader Gold Coast, which is ideal for builders, labour-hire agencies and businesses onboarding several workers at once. Call us on 1300 029 132 to discuss numbers, dates and a group rate that suits your crew.
What major projects are driving demand for White Cards on the Gold Coast?
The Gold Coast is one of Queensland’s fastest-growing corridors, with ongoing high-rise development in Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach, light rail expansion, and major residential and commercial builds stretching from Southport out to Coomera and the northern growth areas. With this level of construction activity, demand for White Card-qualified workers around Southport stays consistently strong.
What are the White Card rules in Queensland?
In Queensland, anyone carrying out construction work must complete general construction induction training (the White Card) under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld), which is administered by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WorkSafe QLD). Our CPCWHS1001 course meets these requirements, and the card you receive is recognised Australia-wide.
How long is my White Card valid and what is the 2-year lapse rule?
Your White Card doesn’t expire as long as you stay active in the construction industry. However, if you don’t carry out any construction work for a continuous period of two years or more, your card lapses and you’ll need to complete the training again. As long as you’re working on and off in construction, your card remains valid.
Can I get my Statement of Attainment same-day, and do I need a USI?
Yes, you’ll receive your Statement of Attainment on the same day you successfully complete the course, so you can start applying for work straight away. You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) before we can issue it, which is free and takes just a few minutes to create at usi.gov.au. If you don’t have one yet, bring your ID and we can help you sort it on the day.
I just need the White Card - is this the right course?
Absolutely. CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry is exactly what people mean when they say “the White Card”. It’s the one course you need to work on a construction site in Queensland, it costs $85 in Southport, and you’ll walk away with your nationally recognised card the same day. If you have any questions before booking, just call us on 1300 029 132.
