Frequently Asked Questions
Where is your Sunshine Coast White Card venue located and how do I get there?
Our Sunshine Coast classes run at 137-141 Brisbane Road, Mooloolaba QLD 4557. It’s an easy spot to reach from Maroochydore, Buderim, Kawana and Caloundra, with parking nearby and public transport options along the Brisbane Road corridor. If you need directions or have any questions before your booking, give us a call on 1300 029 132.
What's nearby the Mooloolaba venue for breaks and lunch?
You’re spoilt for choice around Brisbane Road in Mooloolaba. There are plenty of cafes and bakeries within a short walk, and Mooloolaba Esplanade and the beachfront are close by if you fancy a quick stroll on your break. Maroochydore’s shops and food options are also just a few minutes up the road.
Which local employers and industries need a White Card around the Sunshine Coast?
The Sunshine Coast has a busy construction and trades sector, with strong demand across residential building in Buderim and Caloundra, commercial projects in Maroochydore, and civil and infrastructure works around Kawana. Builders, labour-hire firms, civil contractors, electricians, plumbers and roofers all require workers to hold a valid White Card before stepping onto site.
How does the Sunshine Coast venue compare to your other QLD locations?
If Mooloolaba isn’t convenient, we run the same $85 CPCWHS1001 course at several other Queensland venues. The nearest options are Caboolture, Cannon Hill and Brisbane. Every venue delivers identical training and the same nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.
Do you offer on-site or group White Card training for the Sunshine Coast area?
Yes. If you’ve got a team of workers across Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Buderim, Kawana or Caloundra, we can arrange group bookings and on-site delivery to suit your business. It’s a great option for builders and labour-hire companies onboarding multiple staff at once. Call us on 1300 029 132 to discuss dates and numbers.
What major projects are driving construction demand on the Sunshine Coast?
The Sunshine Coast is one of Queensland’s fastest-growing regions, with significant investment in the Maroochydore CBD development, health and education precincts, and ongoing residential growth corridors around Caloundra South and Kawana. With Brisbane 2032 infrastructure also lifting activity across South East Queensland, demand for White Card-holding workers is set to stay strong for years to come.
What are the White Card rules in Queensland?
In Queensland, anyone carrying out construction work must complete CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry – and hold a White Card. This requirement falls under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld), which is administered by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WorkSafe QLD). Our $85 course meets these requirements in full.
How long is my White Card valid and what is the 2-year lapse rule?
Your White Card doesn’t expire, but it can lapse. If you don’t carry out construction work for a continuous period of two years or more, your card becomes invalid and you’ll need to complete the training again. As long as you stay active in the industry within any two-year window, your card remains valid Australia-wide.
Can I get my Statement of Attainment the same day, and do I need a USI?
Yes – once you successfully complete the course, we issue your Statement of Attainment the same day, so you can be ready for site quickly. You will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) before we can issue it. It’s free and takes just a few minutes to create at usi.gov.au – bring it along on the day.
I just need the White Card - is this the right course?
Absolutely. CPCWHS1001 is the official White Card course, and at $85 it’s everything you need to start working safely in construction across Queensland and the rest of Australia. There’s no need for any add-ons – just complete the day, get your Statement of Attainment, and you’re set. Questions? Call 1300 029 132.
